Faith In Action Sunday 2010 - May 2nd Our 3rd Faith In Action Sunday was a success despite the threat of rain. This is a Sunday when we suspend our usual Sunday morning activities in order to do several tasks to benefit our community. This year our tasks included: 1) trimming branches and cleaning up the trails and main building at the Leslie Science Center; 2) cleaning and weeding the front bushes and flower beds at Northside School across the street, and cleaning the grounds of trash and sticks; 3) planting and preparing for planting our "Faith & Food Garden" which grows vegetables to give to Food Gatherers for those in need in our community. Past FIA Sundays have seen projects such as: cleaning the grounds and raking the leaves around Northside Elementary School across the street; raking leaves for the elderly and disabled in our neighborhood; collecting canned goods for Food Gatherers from the neighborhood; writing thank you notes and collecting personal care items for the patients at the Veterans Hospital; sending e-mails of thanks and encouragement to our active duty military
